Hi, I am trying to install Plex on my 920+. I've tried both the direct download and the Beta package. With the former I get an installation error which says I need a higher version of DMS — I'm on the latest 7.x version so I don't understand this. That way doesn't work then, so I try the Beta. This installs correctly, but when I try to open it the url is not reachable. I've tried using https://nas_ip:32400/web to check what happens there, but this also doesn't resolve. So I'm completely stuck.

I have provided System Internal User R/W permissions for Plex.

Any help would be gratefully received!

I'm a total newbie here, so please be patient with me :)

Hey @adams, I'm a fellow noob with a 920+. I can't answer your question as I had no problems installing Plex bare metal myself. However, I'd recommend installing it via Docker instead. Here's a great guide to follow if you're interested.....

Plex in Docker with hardware transcoding

Otherwise hopefully someone can help you with your problem.

Cheers.

I tried http but it makes no difference.. I'm not confident about a Putty replacement on a Mac so can't user Docker

If you are using the URL from the image then please try what @speedmaster said. Use http and the real NAS IP address.

If Plex is running on the NAS then it should be accessible via HTTP and/or HTTPS. But as pointed out earlier ‘nas_ip’ needs to be replaced with the NAS’s LAN IP address.

If that doesn’t work you should check if the DSM firewall is blocking access to TCP port 32400.
