Coming in early June, here is something that we have not yet seen from a global NAS company like Synology. A compact, ultimate personal data backup solution, as it's being called. Here is the BeeDrive.

So, not really a big deal, isn't it?

I've attached an USB drive to all of my PCs and using Macrium Reflect to fully (incremental, differential) backup all of the local volumes. Additional, Macrium is using one of my NAS as a secondary backup storage. Macrium does not support smartphone, though.

I bet, Synology will take a lot of money for its new backup solution :cool:
 
Good to see them expanding, I can see a bunch of use cases where this would be useful for those that need backups for critical pc's and mac's that aren't connected to a network or field work where you have very very slow or no internet.
 
Oh I missed that I would have assumed that a key/password like used in HyperBackup would be part of the setup. Without encryption this would be a no-go.

Anyone who updated a laptop to SSD has a spare drive lying around that with a $8-$12 Ebay purchase, Should accomplish the same thing for far less out of pocket $$.
Heck, I’ve been giving away backup drives for/to relatives for years!
