DSM 7.1 Synology drive sync stops with 3 subfolders?

We have a synology 215j, considering upgrade to 423+ or similar Qnap. Key purpose is to replace my use of Dropbox which I use to host my work. I work between 2 computers PC, iPhone and iPad. My broadband is 500m up/down on a gigabit Lan network.
I like the Synology drive and I did a test on it with introducing a single project on my PC that is synchronised with Synology drive which seemed fine at first. Later I dragged a bunch of folders (a lot), and it seems that Synology drive consistently do not sync the contents 3 levels in.
The question is if this is because I am using a 215j and upgrading to 423+ would solve the problem? Or would the Qnap equivalent work better for my needs?
I would like to have the client software that enables synchronisation, keep all of the files on the NAS, and then the ability to keep some of it offline on the client machine when desired (laptop, PC, iPhone iPad), similar to how it works on Dropbox.

I’ve never tested the depth, but I migrated away from my DS215j when I wanted to use the newer office/media suite of packages. The DS215j just didn’t have enough performance to support these packages, plus for Drive the use of Ext4 file system means it will eat up storage.

Looking at my Drive folder I’ve got at least 6 levels of folders. That’s on my DS1520+ using Btrfs file system. As for QNAP, that’s probably best asked on a QNAP forum.

I too am able to sync many folders deep on my windows 11 machine to my DS220+ (ex F:\House\House Net\Pro Router\Firmware)

Suggest double checking your Synology Drive windows client version and configuration. The current version is 3.3.0-15082.
