Just bought my first Nas (but been following you for a while - although not in a stalk-ery type way!), DS720+ and was watching your videos about the ram upgrade. Doing some other research, I stumbled upon this, claiming that despite the interface showing upgraded ram, that anything beyond the 8gb supported by the CPU will not be used.

Although you were able to create a VM and allocate that amount of memory, was it confirmed within the VM itself how much memory tat OS could see?

Note: Out of a total of 10GB, you will be using only 8GB. The remaining 2 GB won’t be used. You won’t find a 6GB memory, so you will get a total of 6GB if you buy the 4GB module. But DS720+ support 8 GB according to Intel so, if you buy a RAM module 8GB you will get a total of 10 GB in your NAS but only 8GB will work not 10GB.

Just wanted a little clarification before I buy additional ram.

Keep up the great work btw!
