Synology Hyper Backup - Storage and backup size mismatch

Hi guys,



I recently purchased a DS223j, wich have a 6TB disk. I also step up snapshots of my homes directory. the NAS is running now for 5 days, and the changes to files since then are minimal, and i dont expect many changes on the snapshots

Today was strying to setup Hyper Backup, for backups on a external HDD.

I have 2 users on NAS: one having 300GB on homes directory, another 90GB (as you can see in the below screenshot)

But my Hyper backup is running now for 11h having a size with more than 400GB.

Can someone explain to me if this make sense? Why the big difference on my expectations on the size of the backup, and the actual size with more than 400GB and it is only 60% done?

A first HB incremental backup always takes a long time and during that, HB does a lot administration.
Concerning the size, you are not only backup homes but, also Packages with any data if it's present.

Thank you for your quick reply, would the few applications i installed occupy this amount of space?

Video station? But Videos are on a directory that is not being backed-up

If Video Station is selected, HB will standard backup the map video.

Maybe it is it. I will try to backup without video and music station.
