Hi Synoforiums, does anyone know of a reason to not replace a 2016 Toshiba x300 4tb 128Mb Cache with a 2022 Toshiba x300 4tb 256Mb Cache HDD.

I mean gotta love the Toshiba drives, 5 in RAID5 57772 hours and have had 2 then 3 bad sectors within 2 weeks, all recovered but can't imagine it will get anything but worse so want to have one waiting, thing is the cache has doubled, just wondered if anything else has that renders them incompatible, or makes them perform like WD RED's or something equally scary

this disk model is not the basis of Synology branded disks. It's a different model (N300) which is a little bit higher range.
It doesn't change the fact that people love their brands.

Don't expect a big change in performance vs the current model in operation.
Enjoy!
