Troubleshooting TeamViewer error - where should I post?!

I get an "ActiveX controls" error the first time I open File Station in any given TeamViewer session to my DS920+. It worked without this issue the first month or so after I bought the NAS, then this started happening consistently.

I've tried reinstalling TeamViewer on the NAS but it made no difference.

The error only appears when connecting to my NAS via TeamViewer, and it only appears the first time File Station is opened in any given remote session. The error never appears when connecting to the NAS using a web browser on the local network.

Any ideas what's causing it?

So you can connect to TV on your NAS but you get an error when opening File Station? This would be maybe a problem (security one) on the browser you are using to open the DSM? Were there any updates on that part? Does this happen with multiple browsers as well?

I get an error when opening File Station but only the very first time I try to open it in any given TeamViewer session. After dismissing the dialogue box, File Station opens by itself after that - it then opens without the error on subsequent attempts during the same remote session.

I'm not using a web browser. I'm using the TeamViewer client on Windows to connect to the TeamViewer package on the NAS. Both applications are up to date.

It happens with TeamViewer on multiple PCs.

Good question. I was actually wondering about this myself but I only have Windows systems to test it on at the moment.

Maybe I can install Linux on a spare laptop and try.

Good question. I was actually wondering about this myself but I only have Windows systems to test it on at the moment.

Or just run a free VirtualBox with ubuntu inside it and install a TV client, cost 0 (apart from time) and test it that way. No need to a spare laptop at all.

Good point. I'll do that and will see what happens.

My guess is the problem is NAS-side and will continue to happen when using Linux to connect - but there's only one way to know for sure!
