New to the forums and first post!
I have two Synology boxes, one on our main site and another on a remote site via VPN, I can connect to both fine. The main site is setup as host server and and remote is recording server, it all works. The problem is, looking at traffic on our firewall, seems the remote site is recording going via the main site, which of course is creating unnecessary traffic. I was hoping the remote cameras would record direct to the remote server. So what is best practice for this setup? Should the remote also be in host mode? Can the main site then still manage those cameras? All the licenses we have are now tied up on the main site, I'm guessing we would need extra licenses if the remote site is set to host?
Hope that all makes sense! And thanks for any help.
