When I click on one of the folders shown in Synology Photos , I get the message 'no items - drop files here' etc. This is the folder with 90% of my photos/videos ready for sorting*. Everything in it is listed in file station, so I know the the folders & files are there, just cant access them in photos.
* My 218 play kept warning me that a disk had failed, so I bought a 220+ & transferred everything into this folder. Turned out that it was repairable, but didn't want to risk losing everything.

Is there anyone out there who can help?

I created a folder called 'from old', then transferred everything into it. I am pretty sure it is not the root photos folder. When I said photos/videos I meant it has got photos & videos in the folder - sorry about that.

so that means that the content is not inside home/<username>Photos/....? If so, that's your problem

O.K., thanks, I'll move it over. I must admit, I'm not familiar with the Synology system & apps, and find it very hard to find any in depth instructions. It took me weeks trying to move this file from one NAS to the other, I ended up downloading to my computer then uploading to the new one. I assume there must be a way to do it directly - but be blowed if I could find out how!

File Station > Remote connections (in the tools menu), or Hyper Backup app (a backup app).

ask away, people here will help out as much they can.

Never knew about remote connections and for some reason with hyper backup I kept ending up with an empty folder.
