Question USB passthru from client?

does synology VMM support USB passthru from another system?
ie if i'm connected to a VM and i plug a USB device into the laptop, can i passthru that USB device to the VM? or can it only use the USB ports on the NAS itsef?

Only via NAS itself, but that will also work only with selected devices considering that Syno is killing support more and more for 3rd party devices that will be detected via USB ports on their NAS units.

i connected the iphone to the NAS, set it to mount in the USB VMM settings.
and nothing shows up in the VM (windows 10)

after a bit of faffing it actually did connect and was seen by the VM
