DS finder Useful, but not fully functional

DS finder app is ok, useful, I like the notifications, but it's not useable for any deeper configurations. You can't see DSM in it on mobile, because it's not responsive, even if you set to shoe desktop mode.

The only use of DS Finder for me is push notifications support, that’s all.

I've noticed it was recently updated for IP Blocking and User Management, which is a nice add, but considering how long it's been in development.. bit of a disappointment.

By using their [email protected] address that you can get after you register with their service.

You then use the email address that is specific for your account and add it into Control Panel > Notification > Push Service

If you want to use a fancier method (adding Synology notification custom icons etc...) then you can use this method

In those rare occasions that I might need that, I just load up desktop version of DSM and reset it like that, or VPN back and use a Terminal app on my phone to SSH into NAS and run the reboot command.

Nothing special, I just use Pushover for a lot of things so just wanted to have all notifications at the same place

Thanks. I hadn't heard of that one. I'm always looking for new tools to simplify life That one looks interesting now that I see all that it is capable of. I've always used Pushbullet to move phone notifications to my laptop, but I never thought about having notifications come to my phone.

I use this too. I like that you can send SMS over desktop. But Pushover does not support this.
