  2. MR2200ac

Important Note

The update will be available for selected regions within the following weeks, although the release time in each region may vary slightly.

Fixed Issues

  1. Fixed the issue where SRM might not automatically update the system according to the schedule.
  2. Fixed the issue where the Map function in Threat Prevention and Network Tools was not functioning properly.
  3. Fixed a security vulnerability. (Synology-SA-23:13)
Notes:

That security vulnerability...
A vulnerability allow remote attackers to bypass security constraint via a susceptible version of Synology Router Manager (SRM).

I wonder what that means and how exposed the routers are? But it's ok because it's on a staged rollout, so you'll have plenty of time to find out how exposed you are.

Agreed. I checked via DS ROUTER, and -6 is still current.

Alerted neighbor that their 1.2.5 has a -10 update. (They prefer that I do their updates… I don’t mind.)

You can find it here.

Installed it successfully. We will see if it's any better than update 6.

But there seems to be at least one improvement! My Mac finally connected at 1300mbps! All 6 versions before this, it kept connecting to 5Ghz-2 which is limited to 866mbps or something like that. Will see if it does so consistently, but it's the first time it's done it off a reboot, so hopefully a good sign!

Using DS ROUTER You cannot point to an external file. It can only see what router sees as ‘available’.

DS ROUTER is an APP running on a phone. I’ve used it (and updated router remotely from thousands of miles from home).. Equivalent for NAS: DS FINDER. with same limitations.

Ah, sorry, didnt realize you were talking about the app.

That Security issue for -7 must not be of high concern, as I’m still not seeing -7 being available yet, with DS ROUTER App.

So while the router now sometimes hooks up to the 5Ghz-1 radio correctly, sadly, more often than not, it keeps hooking to 5Ghz-2.

Toggling it once, will keep it on 5Ghz-1 for days, which shows it's just a handshake problem when you reboot.

So when I rebooted after a macOS update, it hooked up to the slower 5Ghz-2 radio at 866mbps. And toggling the backhaul fixes it, and fixes it until a reboot.

Super annoying they cant optimize the handshake.

Updated 30 min ago... seems OK.
After Database updates, TP update, and 10 min to settle down. DS ROUTER see’s: 41-54% CPU, 60% Ram
No mesh, but Linksys E2000 working fine as access point. (As it has for years!)

1.3.1-7 on 2600 Next morning:
Don't know if it's a unique issue here or..... But this morning I found TP not protecting the Primary interface... It was Un-Checked....
NO Events in 16 hours.... Checked it... It restarted the TP system....
Exited Router, and rebooted Computer, and re-entered Router.... It stuck....

I know for a fact it was enabled as yesterday, on arrival home, I checked to see if anything unusual had been picked up in our month's absence... Prior to updating router...
I will check this same thing when I check Neighbor's 2600 on 1.2.5 later this week

Might check it... Dunno, never done this before...??????

EDIT: So I updated my other 2600... This one has dead Primary port... (Using LAN 1 as WAN) Seems to update fine (LAN 1 as WAN) but Primary is also Disabled, which in this router is correct.... So Maybe, Maybe not.

Did find something new.... You cannot add a List of allowed IP's in Auto Block any more.... Only one IP at a time. However, if you had a range applied, 1.3.1-7 will still display a range, you just can’t add a range any more.
