2x 720+ one 728+… Updated an hour ago.... Only have GB and it is working ok.
At that time DS FINDER still thought older was current..
Agree, Apps work fine. Can report that unsupported eSATA envlosures and unsupported SSD’s Still work fine

Watch out. There is a bug on 7.2.1 with 10GB NIC and open switch. So a lot of VMM instances. If you run that combo upload speeds are a mess. Breaks SMB, Drive, and anything else with clients uploading files. I confirmed via a support case they are working on a patch.

Oops! Missed that! Lucky me, nothing but GB Ethernet here. (sorry for flip flopping posts, just got back after a month away. Bit tired, and was hurrying to catch up on updates, cause I saw security fixes. Internet where we were was spotty).

even in systems where VMM is not installed, this bug is present as well

Yeah it's not a VMM bug it's open vswitch. VMM requires open vswitch to be on so that's just the most common way to setup for this scenario. 10GB NIC, open vswitch enabled, and 7.2.1.

Per my post: DSM 7.2.1-69057 Issue with 10GbE cards - DS1821+ (others)

Uploads to NAS over 10g network from Windows 11 over SMB, VERY SLOW - FAILS after upgrade to DSM 7.2.1-69057

NOTE: The DSM 7.2.1-69057 is still available on the download sites

I am amazed that Synology continues to have an update available that can cause a customer's 10g network SMB connection to fail!

Synology reply:

We understand that after updating to DSM 7.2.1-69057, transferring files from Windows PC to the NAS via the 10GbE card might cause failure or slowness.

We are aware of this issue and the developers are working on a path to resolve it in the future.

We also recommend using the 1Gb port in the meantime.
------------------------------
My Solution (temporary):

DSM-NETWORK-MANAGE-Open vSwitch Settings

Disable Open vSwitch temporarily = 10g connection works again

From Synology Support:

We understand the issue was effecting multiple users specifically using 10Gbe ports.

We also understand that the DSM update wasn't removed from our website due to the developers decision because it did not effect every device/user.

----------------------------------------

Users, at the very least, expect the files posted on the Synology downloads site to be properly tested and SAFE from all but very minor errors - certainly safe from errors which disable major functions.

BUT... Synology thinks a faulty update that only harms 100-100,000+ users is OK as long as it does not affect/harm ALL USERS.

Synology will leave the update online for other unknowing/trusting users to download and possibly affect or financially harm?!?!?!

MAYBE SYNOLOGY EXECUTIVES SHOULD CONSULT WITH THEIR ATTORNEYS

delay applying new releases of DSM until bugs are worked out
But that's a long road... I'm still holding fast to v6.2.4... and the bugs just keep on swarming...

I’m simply amazed they broke their own network card — obviously didn’t test with it!

I can't argue your trepidation, I've been running stable on 7.1.
