Hello,

My RS3621xs+ was on DSM 7.2.2-72806 and now just got DSM 7.2.2-72806 Update 1. The same updates were available for the virtual DSM which runs inside the RS3621xs+.
All apps are up to date on the DSM, there is more than 1TB free storage on each of the 4 volumes of the DSM, including on the volume which hosts the virtual DSM, on which there are 3TB free space. However, in the DSM update window of the virtual DSM, at a couple of seconds after the new available download appears, the status turns automatically to "Insufficient capacity to update". Is there any fix to this? Tried "manual DSM update", as the button works for a couple of seconds before the status turns red, but obviously the update doesn't succeed in this very short time before the status becomes red.

This is not the issue of the data volume insufficient space, but rather the system partition space (the one not visible in the Storage Manager).

Official recommendation is a system reboot in order to flush anything in the /tmp location. Reason for this could be any number of things. Some sideloaded app, incorrect usage of Docker, manual usage of the /root path etc.

The point is that if the reboot won't fix the issue, contact Syno support and let them have a look. By look I'm referring investigating the usage via SSH.

Via ssh you could run df -h command to get the output of the md0 partition (the system partition in question) to see how much space it has used so far and how much free space is available.

It's concerning DSM in VM so, you have to look in the Storage Manager in VM and SSH with PuTTY to the DSM in the VM and there run df -h
