Anyone upgraded from a 916+ to a 920+?

I installed Windows 10 into a VM on my 916+ with 8 GB RAM and a SSD and it "works", slow but OK, i do NOT need it for real work.

The CPU in the 920+ is 2-3 times faster than then one of the 916+.

Do you feel/see the speed difference in the VM?

718/918 have a bit slower CPU then the new 720/920, but running it on an SSD NAS vs a stronger NAS with HDDs I still had an "OK" experience with it. The biggest problem that remains is still the CPU. Don't imagine that will be any different with 920.

OK, thanks for that answer.

Even if it was NOT was i was hoping to hear. ;)

THEN i will stay with my 916+

Pitty enough the Synology hardware is not the best platform to run Windows on. I like the explanation of it from this post:

Of course Synology has powerfull hardware for that, but most home users dont want to pay that much and dont want that power consumption.
