Firstly I apologize if I have posted this into the wrong area.

I was awoken the other morning to my nas beeping, upon investigation, it says the following:-

I have 2 x 16 gig sticks of unbuffered non-ECC ram, which has been working perfectly since I installed them on day 1. Upon inspection it seems to be related to the ram. Has anyone had a similar problem, if so, how did they solve it. Just in process of copying all the data of on this volume, will power down, remove crucial ram and replace with original Synology 4 gig ECC ram and see how that goes.

Or has Synology upped the ante and made it that you can't use any ram except theirs???

One more question, can I run the 4 gig ecc ram with another 16 gig ecc ram??

Thanking you in advance....maybe

nothing officially but there was always a suggested and supported maximum. If your max is not 32GB it might be the case very well.

you can but same premise as before. going over suggest max is a risk.
