VPN Connection Preventing Web Station from Working

Hello,

I have Web Station setup on my Diskstation to act as an API for my IOT devices. That I have working from the public internet as required by IFTTT (port forwarded in my router). The only problem is, I would also like my Diskstation to connect to a VPN, so that other services like DownloadStation aren't using my public IP. And when I turn on the VPN connection from within the Network area on the DiskStation, it seems to kill my connection to the Web Station from the outside internet, preventing the IOT devices being controlled by IFTTT.

Is there a way that I can fix this?
