sorry I cannot find any information regarding it and it's enabled by default.
No idea what it does..
It's in Control Panel, in the System tab.

As I’m sure there will be people who will answer you on the matter, it would be a good idea to consolidate your router questions (if they are general and not package specific) in a single thread. Also asking a question almost using a title is not really helping you or anyone else. Invest some time in making a logical thread with multiple questions. This is a discussion board not a chat platform (but we do have one if you prefer that chain of thoughts).

Yes in most cases that would be better, but search on this platform is really good, so it won't be a problem.

Can't recall seeing it or if I did then made some choice and it's working. Have just noticed it's there and enabled. I've a TL-SG108S | 8-Port 10/100/1000Mbps Desktop Switch | TP-Link United Kingdom switch which has some configuration capabilities (VLAN etc) though TP say it's unmanged. Anyway, it's working ok for me with this option enabled.

Seems to be it’s a kind of try from Synology to be managed by another instance in LAN architecture (managed switch), maybe for WiFi AP remote setup, but can’t imagine how.
