just purchased a RS822RP+ specifically for NVR use. They list a bunch of surveillance drives on their compatibility list, but i cant find any of the larger models anywhere.
Had ordered the specific part number from amazon, but got an 'updated' version with a slightly different part number that im afraid wont work since it is different from the firmware/part number on their compatibility list

any good sources in the USA for Seagate 16tb enterprise drives ST16000VE000 for example?

Agreed - Synology has become very slow to update the compatibility matrix, and at least on the higher end NAS models they are locking down compatibility to their toshiba rebranded HA series drives. You may notice that DSM 7 will complain about drives not listed as "compatible' but they work. I am running WD DC HC550's in my 1522+ and have noticed this.
