My DS218 is blue blinking.
It turned out, that the image on the mainboard (stored in a MX25L6433F Flash Chip) is damaged.
it does still look good, but its not starting. The error mesage is different each time so no clear error.
This is only 8 MegaBytes of Data, but it can not be re-created somehow.
To rescure the unit I need a donor who can provide an image dump from a working DS218 unit.
The image can be created on 2 different ways:
1. via serial connection on the mainboard
2. via ssh on running DSM
I can provide a manual for both ways.
The image consits of 5 partitions.
mtd0 (1.048.576 Bytes) = uboot_DS218
mtd1 (3.080.192 Bytes) = zImage
mtd2 (4.190.208 Bytes) = rd
mtd3 (65.536 Bytes) = vendor
mtd4 (4.096 Bytes) = config (?)
= total 8.388.608 (8 MegaByte)
I need all of them.
If somebody is willing to do the job please respond here.
For all those who think I'm on the wrong way here:
I found such an image in the Internet, but not from a DS218 but from a slightly different DS418J (only 2 Cores and 1GB of RAM). With that the DS218 is running fine. That gives me hope that it could work. But I need an Image.
