Hello,
I'm wondering if the File Services "Enable bypass traverse checking" option is working for you with your Synology DSM. I'm now running the latest, into which we migrated our previous SMB shares recently. The problem is that our permission structure relies on proper handling of default NTFS 'bypass traverse checking' which essentially means an user can access a subfolder for which the permissions are granted to him, even if he does not have permissions on the folders up the hierarchy. As an example - one can access \\synology\share1\top\sub1\sub2 when there is no explicit permission for him on share1, top and sub1, just on sub2 . One still needs to know the full path since browsing will stop him at \\synology\share1.
Thanks for help
Jacek
