Can anyone assist me in figuring out what is going on here and/or tell me how to resolve the issue?

Looks like auto-block has been activated following a number of failed SSH login attempts. Usually the .1 IP address is a home router, so could be port forwarding is changing source IP addresses to the router’s LAN IP as the connections pass through.

But I could be wrong.

Agree with @fredbert, feels like a synology firewall blocking as a result of attempts to access your NAS via SSH, like hackers do.
SSH access on the syno should be disabled by default. SSH port 22 on your router can be closed as well if you do not need access from outside.

Good points.

You can also change the TCP ports used by SSH and SFTP. By default these companion services both use TCP 22. By using different TCP ports you can limit the SSH access (or not port forward to it) while allowing [controlled] access to SFTP.

If you really need SSH then consider first establishing a VPN connection. Through the VPN tunnel you can then use SSH. I know it's supposed to be secure, and it is, but it allows command line access so it's better to be safe.
