Performance
Synology rates it at over 6,200/3,700 MB/s sequential read/write and 135,000+ 4K random write IOPS in an all-flash configuration. Supports M.2 NVMe SSD cache via add-in cards (E10M20-T1 or M2D20) without consuming drive bays.


Who Is This For?
This is firmly enterprise territory. The combination of ECC RAM, redundant PSUs, hot-swap drives and fans, out-of-band management, High Availability clustering support, and PCIe expandability makes it suited for organizations that can't afford downtime. At up to 48 bays and 1,152 TB raw capacity, it also covers serious storage scale requirements.

It's overkill for anything short of a small business or larger home lab with real uptime requirements.


Software Highlights
Full DSM feature set with some enterprise-specific additions — Synology High Availability, storage tiering (hot/cold data placement), VMware vSphere/Hyper-V/XenServer certification, iSCSI/Fibre Channel support, and Surveillance Station supporting up to 125 IP cameras at 1080p. Active Backup Suite covers endpoints, VMs, Microsoft 365, and Google Workspace.
