Premium Support is Synology's enhanced support offering for users who require faster, more advanced assistance. It provides priority ticket handling, direct contact with senior support engineers, and 24/7 coverage to minimize downtime and resolve issues quickly.

The service includes advanced troubleshooting, remote sessions, and expedited hardware replacement for supported devices. Designed for critical environments, Premium Support ensures systems get the attention and expertise they need.

Kind-of expected this.
Reminders of: BTS, GVG, Quantel, RTS, Sony, Phillip’s……
If needed - good. My contacts to Synology over last 3-4 years have all been bug reporting, not operational or configuration, so each takes weeks to get confirmation. Let alone resolution. Would not be settled in a day or so.

Is this the first step on the rollback of Synology only drives.
Would not surprise me to see a policy of you can use 3rd party drives on 2025 machines, but you if you need support, you'll have to pay for the Premium Support package.

You Could just be right! I feel incredibly happy: all the work I had planned on a NAS doing - its doing!😁
As I was not aware that SS existed, when I got first NAS, it has turned into an unexpected gem of a find! I can even put up with the license fees IF the stability of the program remains!! So far it has. How I’m using it: it’s not needed maintenance in years!
Sure H265 loss was maddening.I lucked out: None of the DS Programs I used have been cancelled-Yet! The ‘Ram thing’ was - at least work-around-able, though gave minimum improvement. My finding 3rd Party eSata drive extended my operations.
The recent: ‘drive thing’ is a deal breaker for me; I’m a Seagate Fan Boy since mid 1970’s. But with 18 and 20 series devices, that still have horsepower left, and drives of MY Choosing: I don’t care!! A spare power supply makes more sense!
