Remote Access to a media file via http/https browser

Hi

Wonder if anyone can point out what I am trying to do isnt working (or indeed if it can be done)

On my NAS underneath the web folder I have some media files

The structure is a bit like

\Folder1\MediaFile1.mp4
\Folder1\MediaFile2.mp4
\Folder1\MediaFile3.mp4
\Folder2\MediaFile4.mp4
\Folder2\MediaFile5.mp4

etc

I also have a DDNS service thats working correctly using the NO-IP service

I have port forwarded ports 5000 and 5001 to the local IP Address


WHat I want to do is to be able to use a hyperlink to open Chrome Web Browser and play the media file

e.g.

https://ddns-name:5001/Folder1/Mediafile1.mp4

I dont need (or want to have a full blown website)


It works from hyperlink locally so that works - eg https://local-ip-address:5001//Folder1/Mediafile1.mp4

I thought just replacing the local-ip-address with ddns-name would work .... but it doesnt


Anyone able to help with any pointers of what I havent done please?
