Question DS412+ not booting: serial console shows EFI Internal Shell missing boot devices, but EFI partition on internal storage seems intact

Con firmed fully operating. File transfer ~2.5 times comparing to Dlink :)

Congrats! Happy to see, that your persistence paid off ;-)

Thanks. Looks like it is working fine. I put 2x12TB HDDs and already 2 days system is checking drives :(
What I worry about is system stability as I used DOM and BIOS images from different sources. Now it shows ver. 6.2.4. Latest.
Should I do manual "update" to same version? Is it worth to update it to 7.1?

I would not worry too much about that. The onboard bios is rarely updated. The bios.ROM is embedded in the .PAT archive and, if necessary, written to the eeprom as part of the installation of DSM. Since you have DSM 6.2.4 up and running, the updater was most likely happy with the bios version you flashed already.

DSM 6.2.4 is the last supported version for DS412+, so the only way to get to DSM 7.1.1 is to mod the DS412+ into a newer model.

DS412+ is based on the Cedarview package architecture, so that leaves you with the following options:
  • RS2414+/RS2414RP+
  • RS814+/RS814RP+
  • DS2413+
  • DS1813+
  • DS1513+
  • DS713+
Modding it into an RS814+ would be the most obvious choice, since that is the latest released 4-bay Cedarview model. It's doable, but comes with some tinkering and implies a risk for bricking it. But at least you now know, how to revive it again ;-)

Is it worth the effort? I really question that. If you e.g. only use it for archive purposes, it would just leave it on 6.2.4.

Can anyone help with same issue with my ds920+

We need more details in order to help you. So, please provide further details on your DS920+ issue/symptoms in terms of
  • When/how did it stop working?
  • Does it power up at all?
  • If not, have you verified, that your power supply is still ok?
  • If powering up, what is the boot behaviour - any leds lighting up, any beeping?

Silly question. Can I transfer HDD formatted ext4 from DNS-320 to DS412+withou data loss?

To my knowledge, externally formatted ext4 partitions can be read, but you will not be able to migrate the content to a new volume. You would most probably also go for Btrfs nowadays...

I put 2x12TB drive and formatted ext4. I have DNS-320 with 2x3TB HDDs formatted ext4 (or 3, need to check).
What happened if I just remove HDD from DNS and insert it to DS?

Hello, I have a question about the serial number and MAC address of Synology DS1511+, where are they located, in the DOM or in the BIOS chip? I would be happy if someone could explain it to me. I think I have a problem with the BIOS chip of my DS1511+. The blue light is blinking and it won't start. The DOM USB is fine, it reads at about 9 Mbit. The problem remains in the BIOS chip. I want to flash it with the BIOS.rom unzipped from DSM, but I'm not sure about the serial number and MAC address.

the serial number and MAC address
It is coded in file "vender" on 2nd partition of the DoM. You should also replace these four marked files on the 2nd partition.

In 95% of the cases it is a problem of the DoM's flashmemory. Are you absolutely sure that the DoM doesn't only work with USB1.0 protocol? What does temple.exe display?

Yes, I'm sure, the DOM was a problem, but I changed the chip US Best and HDD RAW Copy wrote it at over 8 MB speed. I'm not sure if there are any damaged files on the ROM. But when I tried to connect the device to a monitor and keyboard and enter the BIOS, nothing happens, a black screen, this leads me to think that the BIOS is damaged. When I read it with the ЦХ341А, nothing is recognized, the chip is still not recognized. I accept any advice.

I added something above, did you see?

Okay, but what does this do for me, how do I check if the serial number and mac address are correct for my device? Why can't I enter BIOS? I have a black screen and a flashing blue light. Isn't BIOS before HOME and should load first so I can access it. The DS1511+ has a monitor port.
