1. Fixed a security vulnerability regarding telnetd (CVE-2026-24061).

Contrary to release notes, my 718+ DID show -1 as ‘available’, but not installed, and was remotely installed via QC with DS FINDER, like 720+’s, without issue.

I installed the update on my hoard of nas devices.

If you have a lot of users (9000+ in my case) and a lot of recording servers (72) you might run into the issue where ,in surveillance station, the user list keeps on loading. Also on our central nas the surveillance station cms server list kept on loading.

Internally at Synology this was written down as:
Due to the removal of user group membership (Domain cache) in DSM 7.3, the UserPrivilege enum now requires listing all groups a user belongs to for privilege calculation.
Because of this change (Step 1), calculating group hierarchies for a large number of users has become extremely time-consuming.

There is a patch available through Synology support, ask for the signed-HF4Patch-SurveillanceStation-x86_64-9.2.5-11979 patch . This patch is for surveillance station and will be included in the near future 9.2.5. dsm update. You won't notice a difference if you test it on a test system with low user/server.
